The scaling method being used for the chart could stand some optimization on the iPad retina display, it is scaling at less than the possible resolution and obscuring features that could otherwise be displayed very chart with the NOAA RNC charts. For an example, zoom in in a section ofmchart, then pinch to zoom out, but don't release. The pinched text is sharp as a tack, but when you release your fingers it recalculates and actually displays something less sharp.

It would also be great to not have to wait for the image to redraw when scrolling, is something keeping the program from keeping the whole image in active memory to enable smooth scrolling like on google maps after its loaded a large area?
The next iNavX release will include more optimizations for the iPad's retina display. Of course realize that quadrupling the number of pixels on the screen will result in a slight performance hit. I most likely will make the retina optimization a switch one can turn on/off in the Chart setup.
