I just purchased the MACENC software and have observed an issue that has repeated itself several times. I have the raster charts for Vancouver Island East installed and Chart Manager can see them no problem. It seems on occasion the charts are unavailable to me regardless if i zoom in or out...I only have the generic base map. If I add just one of the charts via Chart Manager the rest will auto load when i zoom on that area, but i would prefer to not have to add the chart or charts via Chart Manager if possible. Is anyone experiencing this issue?
Thanks,
Jarod
Are you saying the CHS Charts are no longer listed in the MacENC Chart Manager?
Or are you saying you don't see the charts the Chart window?
Verify that..
You have "Raster" turned on in the "View" menu?
You have "Automatic" selected on the Context Menu (accessed by [control] clicking on the chart)?
p.s. They are marine charts, not maps..

Hi There,
I had automatic selected but did not have Raster selected in the view menu. This may explain the missing raster chart in the chart window! Do i need to select this every time I open the program or will it remain set to raster? The charts are all present in the Chart Managers window.
Thanks
"Raster" should remain checked even when you exit MacENC, however, if you scroll or zoom off the area where you do not have raster coverage then "Raster" will turn off. Recommend checking "Bounds" on the "View" menu so you can see where you have coverage.
ok this makes sense....i was on occasion scrolling out of my coverage area then returning to the BC coast ...this is likely the reason I would lose the raster.
Even though NOAA does not offer harbor detail in Canadian waters, I still recommend installing the NOAA ENCs so that way when raster turns off you have coverage in addition to the base world chart ..
