- majkmil - August 26, 2008 Very noob question. Will I need a router on my ibook in the cabin with MACEnc running to repeat to iNAVx on my iPhone, or will they be able to connect to each other by themselves? I do not have a network on my boat. Thanks - GPSNavX - August 26, 2008 You can create an Ad-Hoc network via "Create Network" on the Airport menu on the menu bar. iNavX <-> MacENC help - majkmil - August 27, 2008 So they can "talk" to each other natively without being on a physical network? I think I understand but was just want to be sure. I use MACEnc all the time and want to have my iPhone in the cockpit sometimes although I wonder abut water damage. Just have to be careful I guess. I still cant understand why noaa does not have a vector chart for Nantucket sound? But that is another sary. In my dusty shop and on the water I slip my iPhone into a half-height "snack sized" ziplock sandwich bag. While not an Otter Box, the bags are a good fit and the touch screen works fine through the plastic. Although limited, it is cheap insurance. Collin - majkmil - August 27, 2008 Thanks I was thinking along those lines. I am on my second phone, Apple took one look at my old phone and said I must of submerged it, but all I can remember is sailing with it on my boat. Maybe some spray got in the connector but I certainly tried to keep it dry. I saw some place where they had a waterproof case for the first iPhone but it was not for 3g yet. |
