AyeTides XL, specifically for the iPad, is now available on the App Store. It features:
- A map to aid in station selection. This is the only part of the app that needs a net connection, although you can load the map with the region you're interested in and then view it off-line - it just won't update. The map has station clusters which you can click on to see the list of stations in the cluster, and tide and current stations. The map can show nearby stations, as the app uses the GPS or Wi-Fi to locate your position (which can be manually entered as well).
A list of all the stations currently shown on the map.
Favorites, recents, alphabetically sorted and regionally organized station lists, for quickly locating stations.
A tide clock on the portrait view, along with the current value.
Also on the portrait view is a two-day listing of the tides/currents, with an interactive graph. Swipe from side to side to change the date and the lists & graphs slide in and out.
On the landscape view you have a calendar of the month; tap a date to get additional information, including an interactive graph, astronomical information (including all modes of twilight, civil, nautical, and astronomical), sun rise/set, moon rise/set, and percent of moon visible.

I'm working on it now. I'm redoing AyeTides and adding new pages for AyeTides XL. I hope to have it ready by the end of the week, but I have to learn RapidWeaver as I'm ditching iWeb, it's just too limited.

Wondering about the tide station list in AyeTides XL compared to AyeTides and Mr Tides. Is a tide substation list available prior to purchase?
My biggest frustration with AyeTides is that the primary substations I use on the computer are not available on the iphone version. (yeah, I can easily work around that, but I'd prefer not.)
I don't know why I'm quibbling over $10; I owe you that in gratitude for your Mr Tides.

Mr. Tides hasn't been updated in a while so the lists are not in sync any longer. The lists for AyeTides and AyeTides XL are in sync, so I suspect the missing stations are coming from an update from NOAA that removed them. They've been purging quite a few stations in the last 3 years or so. If you'll tell me the name of the station(s) that are missing, I can look them up and tell you their status.
I'm still working on a Google Earth file that has the stations in it. I'm having some trouble with the zoom levels and getting the stations to not overwhelm the screen. Google Maps won't work as it slows to a crawl when trying to process all the stations. I'll work on this some more and see if I can get it to do what I want.
