- pangolin - May 23, 2011 I'm new to MacENC and as yet don't have radar on the boat. Is there anywhere I can find details of what to expect from a MacENC-radar connection. For example is there a way to have the radar display overlay on the MacENC chart? Thanks - GPSNavX - May 23, 2011 Been discussed on this forum several times. MacENC will display the tracked target and cursor from the RADAR NMEA-0183 data. You can see an example of this by using the "Simulator" on the "GPS" menu in MacENC. - pangolin - May 23, 2011 Yes, I saw some of the threads on making the NMEA connection for targets so I think I know what to look for in a radar brand. Sounds like there is no display overlay possibility, correct? Also can radar and separate AIS receiver be connected at the same time? Thanks Pat - GPSNavX - May 23, 2011 Yes RADAR and AIS can be used at same time. Would recommend using a multiplexer though to interface both to your Mac. A Brookhouse iMux or ShipModul Miniplex lite are good choices. |
