newby has a question - imac - August 24, 2006 hello is there no chart that we can use on our GPSNavX or other mac soft and also on our chartplotter (gps) i mean , do i have to buy a BSB chart for my ibook and lets say a navionics or bluechart or C-map for my plotter. i don't understand the difference - GPSNavX - August 26, 2006 Correct. BSB charts are in raster format. I am not aware of any dedicated chart plotter (other than Maptech's) that works with raster charts. Chartplotters use vector charts and as you mention they use proprietary format vector charts. For example Garmin Bluecharts will only work with Garmin chart plotters. |
