I am having trouble with the request GRIB part of MacENC ( Intel MacBook Pro- 10.4 @ 2.16ghtz...)
when I send a request Firefox (3.6) opens up and goes bonkers by opening blank tab ofter tab... scrolling across the screan. I have uninstlled firefox and re-installed a new download of it. I have made my preferred browser Safari and it still opens up with firefox with the same results.
I am hoping to ship out in a week but I cant see leaving without access to GRIB. this is my main system............... solutions please!

I don't know if this works on OS X 10.4 or not but try setting the Default email reader to Mail in the general preferences of the Mail application on your Mac Pro. The request should be sent by an email application and not by a browser like Firefox.

not 100% answer for Your question, but ... :-)

MacENC - not optimal way to make SailDoc request.
Biggest problem - You can't manage size of receiving file!

If You always have internet on board - just use ZyGrib, if no - still best idea describe Your plan for access Grib data.

I personally use - SailMail (under VMWare) for preparing request, if I use satellite I just copy e-mail text from SailMail to X-Gate, but You can see aprx size BEFORE send request.

Also good Grib provide GlobalMarine network, just wind but very optimized and accurate.
