THE CNX-P5V 15 WATT REGULATOR

Upgrade your P1900 to include a 3RD regulated (+5V) output!

Can also be used as a stand-alone Point of Load (POL) regulator

Now Shipping!

Now you can add a 3rd regulated output to your P1900! Or you can power your USB devices from a stand alone Point of Load (POL) +5V regulator with up to 3 amps of current (15 watts of power)!

The P5V 5 volt regulator lets you power your Mac mini or Travla case (+18.5V), Screen (+12V), AND SOON ... +5V USB devices with a switched power source. The P5V can provide 3+ amps for power hungry USB devices like Audigy 2NX sound card, WiFi, and GPS devices. The P5V is a "bolt-on" upgrade to the P1900 that requires no soldering. It is also controlled by the DLYON control of the P1900 so that you can safely power down your USB devices when you ignition is off. As a stand alone POL regulator, simply connect the control line to the ignition input (for switched control) or to +12V contstant for "always on" operation.

Mac mini boot up with Carnetix power supply - Quentin - January 18, 2007

I am installing a mac mini above the chart table with only the front (for DVD slot access) visible. I have set up the system with a Carnetix power supply but its auto power on feature only gives a 500msec pulse for the mac mini which only stimulates sleep/wake.

My thought is to install a "boot button" on the panel next to the mac mini wired in parallel with the power button cable splitter so that I can give the mac its prolonged boot up press when I first start it up.... and when it hangs!

Has anyone any better ideas than this, have I missed something obvious!?

By the way, I bought an HP w19 LCD screen which is fantastic, but be careful and actually go to the shop to buy your screen...... you can't tell from internet sales sites whether the screen you are buying comes with a separate power brick.... I was lucky with this one because PC world had it in their shop on demo. They had lost the power brick for it and were selling it off cheap... what a pity!

from the Carnetix support forum:

"We have posted Version 2.5 firmware which extends the turn-on delay for the ACPI (power button push) pulse, as well as extends the length of the pulse. If you are currently having initial turn on issues (not return from sleep issues) this new firmware may help."

The firmware is located here:
