FYI, I noticed this morning that the first of the Navionics chart packages are starting to show up at the app store. The USA East (equivalent to their Gold+ XL9 16XG cartridge) is now available for installation on the iPhone. They are selling it for $50, which they say is limited time reduced price. Also available are several packages for inland lakes.
