Title: Dual XGPS 150 with macbook pro?
#1
I got a Dual XGPS 150 for my ipad (no gps/3G) and iphone. They work great with iNavx on these platforms. I have tried using the Dual gps with my macbook pro running OSX Lion and I can't seem to get them to connect. I am currently running the trial version of MacEnc. If I can get this to work then I will download the full program. Has anyone else done this?
thanks,
Lori

Never mind! I figured it out...my iphone was connected to the GPS via bluetooth and I guess it won't hook up to two devices simultaneously. Once I turned it off the connection was made!
Now to order that MacENC

One thing I have found with the Dual XGPS, is the virtual port created will only exist if the GPS has a fix. Also key to move the mode button on the unit to PC/Mac.

I also have the Dual XGPS 150 which works great with my iPod Touch. But can't get it to connect with GPSNavx on my MacBook Pro. In the Settings pane what type of GPS should I select? What speed? What Port - GPS-Modem?
The GPS is paired via Bluetooth with the MacBook.
Thanks,
Sue

Did you slide the mode switch to the PC/Mac position on the XGPS 150?

You need to create a virtual serial port in the Bluetooth System Preferences. Restart GPSNavX or MacENC. Rate 4,800, Type can be "Other" in the GPSNavX/MacENC GPS panel Settings drawer.

I still don't like the XGPS 150 for Mac use as the virtual port is only available when the GPS has a fix. Better choices out there like the BU-353 USB GPS.

Sad Okay, I have connected the dual 150A to my Mac Book Pro(10.4) but no data stream is detected. I am Paired, Configured and Connected. The Dual worked for me on initial setup a month or so back, but now no data. Any Ideas?

Smile I finely got data.
This is what I learned about using the Dual 150A:
start Dual first
next start MacENC
then in settings box choose XGPS150 as your port.

This should get your position fixed and on screen.

Good Luck

I love my MacENC!
