The forthcoming version of PassagePlus will allow you to install charts directly from the downloaded folder. The current version (v1.5.0) assumes that CDs will be used. So to take advantage of this price in the meantime you need to burn the downloaded files to CD. 2. Most importantly... please, please, please look at supporting another raster format - preferably Maptech's BSB. The charts may not be as pretty, but they usually sell for about a third the price of ARCS Skipper folios, have world-wide coverage, and are supported by virtually every other Mac / PC based navigation software out there.. so there's loads of users who would license the product to use with their existing cartography.

Just my two pennies worth.. and great news about AIS support, BTW.

Also added an option to filter Related Charts to those above a certain scale. Thus, very small scale charts (such as the World chart) that are unlikely to be needed often can be excluded to reduce clutter. The threshold scale can be set in Preferences. A button allows the full list to be shown whenever needed.

Chart Browser now works with NZMariner charts.

When measuring a bearing & distance, distance is now shown to 2 decimal places if less than 10M, 1dp if more.

For first time demo user, one of the demo charts is now automatically opened at first launch rather than leaving the user to work out how to do it.

There are currently 159 charts in the NZMariner collection. They fit on a single CD, and when you purchase the CD (which is very reasonably priced) you automatically get permits to open all 159 charts.

NOTE: For existing users who are using ARCS charts only, there are no new features in v1.4 compared to v1.3.4, so there is no need to download this version unless you want to try NZMariner charts.

IMPORTANT: because NZMariner chart permits are stored on the CD, PassagePlus cannot open NZMariner charts unless either the Update CD or the Charts CD was issued after October 2006. Confirm with your retailer when purchasing that the Update CD is October 2006 or later.

(2) If you have entered tidal diamond data, tidal vectors are shown on the chart indicating the tide rate and direction at each diamond. The display is updated each minute. Also, automatic tide calculations using the tidal diamond data are now available for dead reckoning and estimated position functions (previously only available for course-to-steer). And you can set an artificial time so you can see the impact of tides at some point in the future (or the past if you want).
