Just changed from PC to mac and wondering if my Egeport USB to serial adaptor will still work? I need this for my Iridium phone and also an old Garmin GPS.

Best to check with the manufacturer to see if they can provide Mac OS X driver software. Such drivers provide the conduit between the applications and the hardware serial port.
