- Fronsdal - March 27, 2011 :p I am happy to report that I now have GPSNavX, Version 6.0 running on my Macbook. It took me about 20 hours and much help from GPSNavX and Apple. The help button in the application is good, but the instructions for downloading GRIB files are completely incomprehensible to this beginner. I opened a web page that looks official. GRIB.us or something like that, and I registered. They ask me to select an area on their chart. Since GPSNavX says that the area desired is the chart that is open in GPSNavX, I am not sure that this is right. I tried to download something and found that GPSNavX opened up, but nothing could be downloaded. I tell you all this to make it easier to help. Many thanks for continued assistance, Christian - GPSNavX - March 27, 2011 From the tips and tricks forum.. http://www.macsailing.net/fbb/showtopic.php?tid/1245/ - Fronsdal - March 28, 2011 Thank you for the tip. Unfortunately I do not understand. What does this mean: The first email account listed in the "Account" Preferences will be used. I have only one ""Accounts", in the computer preferences. No emails are listed there. Yet I have entered 2 emails in my new OS mail account. Grib request fail. Thank you Chris - FF44 - March 29, 2011 It means that you only have one account in Mail app. May be some help there: Receiving GRIB files with GPSNavX MacENC - GPSNavX - April 3, 2011 The user just needed to add his email account to the OS X "Mail" app and the GRIB requests started working. MacENC uses the very first email account to make the GRIB request. |
