waypoint/routes transfer to (Silva) Nexus NX2 hardware - J122 - October 20, 2007

Untill now it is only possible to transfer routes and waypoints to garmin and magellan and "other" protocols. Would very much appreciate it if you could do the same for the Nexus Marine Nx2 hardware. If you need any help I have an intel mini onboard with the Nx2 system (GPS, Autopilot, wind, log and depth and server) so I can help with testing and getting you info on the nmea sentence needed.

The Nexus NX2 should be able to accept reception of the $GPWPL and $GPRTE NMEA messages as the "Other" Type: selection in the GPS panel Settings supports.

Are you using a Keyspan USB to serial adapter to connect your Mac to your NX2 server? Make sure you have enabled the $IIWPL and $IIRTE NMEA messages for reception. You can confirm that $IIWPL is enabled for transmission by activating a waypoint on the NX2 and MacENC should pick it up as the active waypoint. The active waypoint from the NX2 will be displayed in the GPS panel Waypoint drawer.

If $IIWPL proves not to be enabled, can you advise on what to do to enable it? I'm having the same issues with a Raymarine C70, which, I understand, should work with the Keyspan USB through Raymarine's NMEA/seatalk multiplexer.

Thanks,
