Solid state drives in laptops is the future. It certainly will be a good move for marine use - lower power and better reliability

Can't wait! If they also make them easily interchangeable it would be even grander. Almost like a 64gb flash drive only faster. Would sure help organizing my huge collection of charts!

I just ordered an 8GB USB flash drive. I figure the entire set of NOAA ENCs and RNCs will fit without issue. Should see a great improvement with MacENC in chart loading..

In the future we may offer a flash drive preloaded with MacENC and all ENCs and RNCs.
