- Jack Janos - July 25, 2018 This receiver has a UBS port to connect to my Mac to hopefully use with GPSNavX. It came with a CD that supposedly has a Mac driver for this called ProAIS2. But it comes with no instructions on how to use it. I can't seem to get it to work with GPSNavx or MacEnc. It works fine with my MFD. Does anyone know of a different driver or how to use the ProAIS2 driver? Thanks - Jack - Jade - July 28, 2018 Hello Jack, Try the Prolific USB driver for macOS: Prolific USB driver for macOS Good luck, Jon P.S.: Remember that the baud rate for AIS is usually 38400 not 4800 - Jack Janos - July 31, 2018 Thanks, I'll give it a try. - Jack Janos - August 3, 2018 The Prolific USB driver turns out to be for usb to serial, whereas the Raymarine 350 AIS receiver is usb-to usb. I think the driver for the 350 is good but gpsnavx or macenc dosent recognize it. I'll play around with the ProAis2 driver that came with it some more. - Jade - August 5, 2018 Hi Jack, Looks like the 350's USB is for diagnostics only. However, the unit has an integrated NMEA multiplexor that you may be able to use. Raymarine AIS 350 specs !and the 350 manual can be downloaded from here: AIS 350/650 Installation Instructions - Jack Janos - August 18, 2018 It does not seem to be for diagnostics only. According to pages 34 & 35 of the installation instructions, it says "The USB port can be used to - Use of PC based charting software when connected to the AIS." This also seems to apply to our Macs, since it povides a Mac driver also. There is a note on page 35 about resetting the USB connection. I will try this next time at the boat. In any event GPSNavX & MacEnc should recognize the AIS350 receiver |
