mapsHDR - Chris - October 28, 2005

Hi
I was very pleased this summer to use GPSNavX on my 42 feet motor boat on the Med between France, Corsica and Italy.
At least a good GPS soft on a Macintosh !
I used my GPS as well when I came back on river Rhone and river Saone to Dijon, with Route 66 which is OK for this kind of quite river.
I just wait in next version for a Log book and a simple but useful MOB button.
Only a simple question : a friend gave me some BSB Maptech maps with HDR suffix, but I could not open them, why ? is there a software to convert this kind of map ?
Thanks for your answer.

You some what answered your own question. Maptech decided in order to stop the rampant sharing of charts they would come up with a new format for their charts that requires registration so charts could not be shared. This is the BSB format.

The good news is that Maptech will let users upgrade their old PCX (HDR) charts for a very reasonable price. Contact them and tell them your situation.

Why not try using iCal for your Log Book?

I too use iCal for my Log Book. Be sure to uncheck "Delete events..." in iCal's Advanced Preferences, or you may lose your entries over time.

Good point. I will try and remember that for next season.
