- jagasail - October 20, 2009 OK, in the last two versions of MacENC I'm having problems with the World Base Map loading and displaying when I start the program. It's starting to get annoying now... When I start MacENC I get a screen with a grey grid. Sometimes the World Base Map eventually loads, but it's loading less and less often. This particularly happens if the zoom is at 1:20,000,000 or maybe 1:10,000,000. If I zoom in it sometimes will appear but not always. Also, if I 'scroll to' a location at higher res that's also covered by a raster or vector chart, it will load. Bottom line is it should really load at startup like it used to, but it's not. How can I fix this? Oh, it's also VERY slow to load when it does. Scot - GPSNavX - October 20, 2009 Not sure. Not having that issue here. If "World Base Chart" is selected in the "View" menu then the World Base Chart will display between scales of 1:250K and 1:20M. If not then the World Base Chart will display only at 1:20M. All other charts take precedence and will overlay the World Base Chart when available. World Base Chart .. (Note: This is a raster chart and should not be confused with the ChartWorld World ENC vector chart or Navionics World Chart) [image]http://www.gpsnavx.com/images/screenshots/screenworldchart.jpg[/image] - jagasail - October 21, 2009 Well, that's not what's happening. I'm aware of checking the 'world base map' in the view menu, and it is checked, but it does not always load, leaving me with a screen with a gray grid instead. As I said, sometimes if I scroll to a location (or a waypoint) it will load, but not always. It's interesting as I can see routes and waypoints on the grid even if the world chart doesn't load. Any ideas? Scot - GPSNavX - October 21, 2009 When this issue occurs do this immediately: 1) Quit MacENC 2) Email macenc at mac dot com the: com.macenc.plist file from your home / Library / Preferences folder From that I will see if I can reproduce - jagasail - October 22, 2009 OK, will do but it make take a bit. We're out cruising in the Gulf Islands (in Nanaimo right now, departing this afternoon) and am hit & miss on wifi access. Scot |
