If the Holux and Mac don't pair you probably do type the wrong pairing code!
After Google search I've found that the Holux needs '0000' as pairing code.
It is very important to setup BT serial ports as shown in this PDF doc

on pages 17 and up.
Goto to system prefs and select Bluetooth Manager.
Under devices select the BT Holux and click on edit serial ports.
Continue as stated in the PDF file.

It says one needs a special USB cable to use it as GPS mouse:
USB Data cable for GR-240
IMHO this cable acts like a Null Modem cable as used with 9 pin serial devices!
And uninstall the prolific driver! You only need it for USB to 9PIN serial cables!
