Title: File Conversion To/From Northstar.dat files
#1
I currently have a Northstar 6000i chartplotter on board and from my research, I've discovered that the Northstar uses .dat files. Will I be able to upload the waypoints/routes in MacENC from my laptop to the Northstar? Is there a conversion program that would work?

Suggest you look at GPSBabel because it is not feasible MacENC would support dozens of proprietary formats. MacENC supports the open standard GPX and KML formats for import/export of waypoints, routes, tracks.

Thank you. I will look into GPSBabel. By the way, I agree with your other post regarding manufacturer's going to one standard.
