I tried the x-traverse app last night to download free NOAA charts to my mac. It appeared to download in excess of 25GB of data for the North East district before I stopped it. I had 77GB free but it was chewing it up quickly.
I'm only interested in the raster charts. I'm assuming it was also downloading vector charts given the space it was sucking up. Anyone know a way to constrain the download using the x-traverse app to raster charts only?

The X-Traverse app only downloads the NOAA (raster) RNCs. None of the NOAA regions takes GBs. All less than 1 GB.
Make sure you are following these steps ..

Thanks very much. That's exactly what I did (what the directions on the url you pointed me to said).
And I watched the free space on my hard disk go down, down, down.....
I'll give it another shot. I did find it hard to believe they would take so much space.

You can go into Finder and see the .KAP and .BSB files (as they are downloaded) to see they are not taking up that much space.
Also make sure you have v3.16 of the X-Traverse application.
