Title: Navtex for Mac
#1
Hi there,

We are about to take part in the World Cruising ARC trans atlantic rally.

Currently we try to get the last things working with our macs.

Today it is the Navtex. We have a Nasa PC Navtex Pro engine running.

Is there any could mac software you can recommend that work together with the engine?

The only existing topic I have found (http://www.macsailing.net/fbb/showtopic....msearch/1/) is from 2006. It recommends goSerial from www.furrysoft.de as a reader.

Is there newer software?
Is anybody having experience with goSerial?

Thanks a lot.

Patrick

Multimode from Black Cat may be of help (although I don't know if it is compatible with the latest system, Lion).

Thanks for your quick reply.

I had seen Multimode already. But as far as I can see Multimode is a decoder for an "audio" signal received from a radio receiver.

"You also need a radio capable of tuning in the frequency ranges of interest" (Multimode website)

But the NASA Navtex box should do the decoding and even saves the result when no other receiver (computer) is connected.
