Although deeply afraid that this may be a stupid question, how do I keep the instrument panel displayed at the top of the screen? It's been there sometimes but then seems to disappear. Can't figure out how to bring it back.

There is a small blue disclosure button in the upper left hand corner of the chart. Tap that to toggle the display of the instruments banner.

Brilliant. I had a display that showed a series of dates there. When I opened the dates and selected "none", it brought back the instrument panel.
