Title: MacBook + GPSnavX + BU353
#1
As far as I know, this is all the hardware and software I'll need (in addition to downloaded charts) to find my position, speed, etc. Correct?

Some things I'm wondering:
1) does the mac battery suffer much from GPS receiver draw?
2) I'll surely be letting my mac 'sleep'. Does GPSnavX and the receiver allow this? Does the mac wake up quickly to provide a fresh fix?

Thanks

1) 80mA typical draw

2) If "Connect At Start Up" is checked in the GPSNavX preferences, GPSNavX will disconnect from the GPS when the Mac sleeps and reconnect when the Mac awakes. Yes the fix comes almost instantly.
