a MacENC user tipped me off to these

http://www.risserver.nl/ENC/

They import fine into MacENC using the "Add ENC Catalog". MacENC will create a Catalog.031 file for these charts.

Keep in mind that in order to see them you must set the zoom scale to the same scale as the charts (in this case 'Harbor').

Hi
it's great to have free ENC charts in Europe too.

I tried the Dutch charts and noticed that they are missing crucial data.
The S63 ENC charts I bought from Chartworld for the Netherlands do shows all important informations in MacENC like depth (dark blue 1-2 m). These data is completely missing on the free ENC S57 charts. Buoys are shown correctly but other items are missing. It seems that buildings and streets or landroads are shown correctly too.

But as it looks these charts aren't usable.
Or do I have missed something in MacENC to import these charts?

I also noticed on the parent page that shows the link to the free charts is called "Demodata" as can be seen here:

I can't seem to add the charts I've downloaded using the risserver.nl. I got a lot of folders with .000 files in them. At first MacENC is complaining there is no catalog and when it tries to create one it fails. I did 'touch Catalog.031' on the commandline so there is an empty catalog file.
When I add this catalog there are off course no new cells found. Then I add a chart folder and MacENC says there are no charts found???
I'm using the demo version.

Try deleting the Catalog.031 file and selecting "Add ENC Catalog.." . Select the ENC_ROOT folder and MacENC will regenerate the Catalog.031 file.

You need to choose the folder(s) with the .000 file and have MacENC create a Catalog.031 for each folder.
