I've bought a GeoNav 3 GPS with Navionics maps and charts of Europe. (secial offer for 249 Euro with Land and Sea charts)

The notice on the Navionics SD card said "data on the card will be destroyed if copied with a card reader or a computer"

Is it not possible to backup the SD card? Or have a copy as backup?

Apparently it is not possible to backup the SD card.
