We are getting a new boat which we intend to race. I have used GPSnavX extensively for cruising but I have been looking at the racing software available. The well-know software (Deckman, Expedition) are PC-based.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Those much more expensive Window apps have loads of racing functionality. MacENC does offer SailTimer ..

Just a thought!
Unless you are planning for long distance races, you would be better off putting the cost difference into upgrading the wind and speed instruments.

... And then spending some serious time calibrating them. Was just on a friends new Class 40 with some NKE instruments. Fantastic setup, but we sure didn't get far getting wind speed or wind direction sorted. Time to call the rep.

Thanks for the replies.
We have bought a Beneteau First 40. It comes with a Raymarine setup. We did toy with the idea of going down the B&G route, but got frightened off by the additional cost.
I am looking forward to getting the electronics set up they way I want.
