Title: Domain problems
#1
Hi there,

I've you've found this topic, then it means that you've managed to find the temporary home of macsailing.net. For those of you who are interested, and don;t mind listening to me rave away for a couple of minutes, I've had ISP problems.

Basically, Macsailing.net was pointed to yachtbytes.com, a domain I registered some time ago that was hosted by an ISP called Vizaweb.

The yachtbytes.com domain expired. However, I didn't receive any emails from Vizaweb or anyone else asking for me to pay renewal.

Last Wednesday I tried to log onto the site to check messages and was hit be a weird search engine page apparently registerd to my domain, yachtbytes.com.

I sent a number of emails to Vizaweb, and , two days later received a message as follows:

--------------------------------

Greetings Jon,

Please visit the URL to view and pay this invoice.

https://www.vizaweb.com/hosting/invoice_...xxxxxxxxxx

Thanks,
VizaWeb.com

This email was generated on: 09/02/2005 02:44:21 pm

------------------------------------

This was paid on receipt, and I sent them a nice email confirming my email address (despite having received the above email successfully), and requesting that they repoint my domain to the web server. That was last week.

Two rather snotty emails later, and I have still yet to received a response.

One domain transfer request later and I'm still to receive an acknolwedgement.

So.. macsailing.net will be back at it's old address (with new ISP HostGator) as soon as possible. In the meantime, please access the site through my personal site... http://www.reeferjon.com/bbs

And one final thought.... DON'T USE VIZAWEB. There's a phrase that we in the UK would use to describe them that rhymes with "Rollocks"...

Regards,

ReeferJON

UPDATE: The macsailing.net domain is now being transferred between ISPs. You may notice some downtime on the site.

However the forums can still be reached via http://www.reeferjon.com/bbs

Thanks,
