From what you describe, that sounds like you did not complete the registration process by entering the activation code provided by Maptech and Product ID in the OS X Register application and pressing the "Register" button. You can confirm that registration was succesful by verifying "com.maptech.certificates.plist" file exists in your home / Library / Preferences folder.
