I do not produce a product called "MacGPS" so I cannot speak for what the developer of that program told you.
MacENC is not an upgrade to GPSNavX, but a totally new program that takes complete advantage of the S-57 vector ENC's. For example you can see a "light list" of any S-57 chart and scroll right to any object on the chart.
Raster charts are not going away and I will continue to improve GPSNavX. Both S-57 and BSB charts have their uses so I would not try to sway anyone to move over to S-57 vector charts.
