Title: Raymarine and Macs
#7
Until recently I had been unsuccessful in transferring waypoints and routes from GPSNavX to my Raymarine RL70CRC chartplotter. I was using a Raymarine Seatalk/NMEA Interface Box and serial cable with a Keystone Serial Adapter to get NMEA data to GPSNavX and back. Only one or two waypoints in a route would transfer and the lat/lon position and name would be bogus (several thousand miles from the real location). I could, however, get an active waypoint to show on the chartplotter screen with appropriate stearing data for the autopilot.

The problem turned out to be the Seatalk/NMEA Interface Box. I just installed a MiniPlex 41-BT with the Seatalk/NMEA Interface Box supplying the NMEA data from its RS232 port, but now the NMEA Out from the Miniplex goes directly to one of the NMEA In channels on the chartplotter (instead of back to the Seatalk/NMEA Interface Box and then to the chartplotter via Seatalk).

Problem solved. Now everything works as it should. Thanks again for designing such an excellent program. Maybe this post will help someone else with the same problem.

Frank
