Title: SIMRAD AIS AI50
#1
Hello All,

I have recently installed the new Simrad AI50 AIS unit on my sailboat and am happy with it.

I also use GPSNavX on my MacBook Pro and am happy with it too!

To make it really sweet, I am trying find how to connect the Simrad AIS unit to my Mac and have the info displayed on GPSNavX.

Has anyone successfully attempted to do so? If yes, can you please share your wisdom and tell me what i need to do so?

Thank you!

Typically one would use these cables to interface Mac to bare wire NMEA-0183 connection ..

http://www.gpsnavx.com/html/datacable.html

Once interfaced, the AIS targets will be plotted on the chart, and AIS target info available in the AIS panel.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I'm traveling next week to Miami/Ft.Lauderdale area. (I live in Europe).

Do you have any idea if there is a specialized store in the area that sells these cables?

Thanks!

Keyspan UBS to Serial Adapters can be purchased at many computer and/or office supply stores. The bare wire data cable is a custom cable we sell.
