Title: Carnetix 12 VDC --> 12VDC power supply installation notes
#4
I am installing a mac mini above the chart table with only the front (for DVD slot access) visible. I have set up the system with a Carnetix power supply but its auto power on feature only gives a 500msec pulse for the mac mini which only stimulates sleep/wake.

My thought is to install a "boot button" on the panel next to the mac mini wired in parallel with the power button cable splitter so that I can give the mac its prolonged boot up press when I first start it up.... and when it hangs!

Has anyone any better ideas than this, have I missed something obvious!?

By the way, I bought an HP w19 LCD screen which is fantastic, but be careful and actually go to the shop to buy your screen...... you can't tell from internet sales sites whether the screen you are buying comes with a separate power brick.... I was lucky with this one because PC world had it in their shop on demo. They had lost the power brick for it and were selling it off cheap... what a pity!
