Get GRIB files here
http://www.globalmarinenet.net/grib.htm
Or send an email with 1 line of send command and a non empty subject line to query@saildocs.com
A send commands may look like this:
send grib:40N,60N,0W,20W
Note that this is identical to:
send grib:40N,60N,0W,20W|2,2|24,48,72|PRMSL,wind
Within 2 minutes you will get back an email with attached GRIB file about 9KB-50KB big.
So it's ideal for use with mobile phones and internet connection.
More infos about this method can be found here:
http://www.franksingleton.clara.net/grib_messages.html
It works great with GPSNavX, though I would like to have the possibility to select the grids or place a box over the map you want the actual grib files.
Or something like CTRL- Mouse button to get the Grib file for the selected region. This GPSNavX could easily download the Grib file and placing it over the map. So you don't need to do an OPEN -GRIB-File.
Very much like MaxSea does.
