Should I continue to try and get my MBP to talk to to my Raymarine gear or ditch it and concentrate on iNavX on my iPad?

I like iPad 2 3G because:
1) More portable
2) Longer battery life
3) Cheaper charts
4) Both 3G and WiFi connectivity
5) Easy Brookhouse iMux integration including RM SeaTalk support
6) More Nav software choices for cheaper and all can be used in parallel
7) iOS touch interface
8) iOS auto and free software updates for app

I'd add the iPad has significantly less power consumption.

Best choice is a Brookhouse iMux.
