Hello,
the Globalsat receiver BU-353 comes withan usb cable of 1,5 m only. This is too short sometimes. What kind of extension cable can I use?

Any USB extension cable should fit (with male and female connector) but not more than 4.5 m alltogether.

There are active USB extension cables that will extend the distance if needed.
I have not tried it on the BU-353 but this one works for me with other devices:
