Bonjour
I wanted to inform all of you that I used GPSNAVX during the last (and first) JESTER CHALLENGE (a single handed cross atlantic non-race for sailing boats less than 30' - see : jesterinfo.org).
We (my FigarOne and myself) arrived first in Newport and only an other boat (a 22' vertue with junkrigging ) arrived out of 10 boat on the starting line.
I had no problem with GPSNAVX in 31 days crossing.
Last day (4th of July of course) I made a E-navigation (with a backup) from Cap Cod to Newport. It started with 1/2 mile of visibility and 22kts of backwind wind.
My only soft/hardwere problem was the incompatibility of Iridium with Mac. Iridium announced some development but nothing is operational to date. My son custumised for me a Email. As a consequence I didn't succeed (but I didn't try hard as the Email connection was more important to recieve grib files) in connecting the Nasa AIS engine.
I'm going back to Europe, still single handed, in late November, after the hurican season.
Amicalement
Eric
