I was using Maxsea v7 with OS9 on my G3 I Book.
I had to use Mapmedia charts 'cos I couldn't configure my ARCS charts.
More recently I've been using GPSNavX with Maptech charts on a G4Powerbook. The charting software is good but the Maptech charts are not brilliant.
I would like to try Passageplus on the IBook so I can use ARCS charts again but first I have to upgrade from OS10.1 to OS10.4.
How do I do this, the IBook will not read DVD's.
Help appreciated.

If you want to install 10.4 on an iBook that can't read DVD's you need to use one of the workarounds such as those suggested in http://lowendmac.com/misc/06/0710.html

Alternatively you could install 10.3, for which the installation discs are CDs. PassagePlus runs on 10.3 if you update it to 10.3.9.
