Title: Way-point circles
#2
Sadly you cannot do this yet. I want the ability to draw a circle on the screen at some defined point to avoid the many special no-transit zones in Alaska. The closest that I can do now is to make a center waypoint and then create a few dozen waypoints at the exact distance (for example, 3 miles) that I want to stay clear of that point. By stringing all those waypoints into a route it makes something like a circle. It also makes quite a load of crap on the screen with the waypoint names, but the alternative—being fined thousands of dollars for each incursion—makes the cluttered screen seem like a better idea than nothing. To make this work you must also remember to select the route from the routes list and check "show selected" in the routes menu.

It never occurred to me that an alarm could also sound if one enters the designated zone. I'd be very happy just to be able to make a circle and fill it with color, like bright red for danger. The alarms that do currently produce a sound (anchor, depth, arrival) actually trigger a rather soft voice that can be easily overlooked. A more annoying warning sound has already been promised for a future release.
