Title: MacENC and radar
#1
I'm new to MacENC and as yet don't have radar on the boat. Is there anywhere I can find details of what to expect from a MacENC-radar connection. For example is there a way to have the radar display overlay on the MacENC chart?

Thanks

Been discussed on this forum several times. MacENC will display the tracked target and cursor from the RADAR NMEA-0183 data. You can see an example of this by using the "Simulator" on the "GPS" menu in MacENC.

Yes, I saw some of the threads on making the NMEA connection for targets so I think I know what to look for in a radar brand. Sounds like there is no display overlay possibility, correct?

Also can radar and separate AIS receiver be connected at the same time?

Thanks

Yes RADAR and AIS can be used at same time. Would recommend using a multiplexer though to interface both to your Mac. A Brookhouse iMux or ShipModul Miniplex lite are good choices.
