Title: Disabling automatic map centering
#1
Hello,

I have been navigating with MacENC for two months and I am most annoyed with the way the application is always placing the ship in the middle of the map window as soon as a GPS is connected. When I want to do some navigation under way, I end up having to quit MacENC, disconnect my USB cable and relaunch MacENC. It would make much more sense to have a "Find Ship"/"Find Cursor" toggle switch in the mapping window, much like Raymarine does, to allow the user to check more maps than just its surroundings while under way...

When connected to the GPS, uncheck "Position Centered" on the "View" menu.

At any time selecting "Position" from the drop down menu in the Chart window toolbar will scroll the chart back to the GPS position.

Another option is to close the GPS panel and that also turns off Auto centering.

FWIW, MacENC uses marine charts..
