Title: Update MacENC
#1
Hi, I just upgraded to Yosemite Beta. My version of MacENC is 8.4 and won't load. The Demo at 8.75 does. How do I upgrade my copy of MacENC? Looked on the site, but there's no download option.

With Beta 5 and 8.75 I haven't had any problems. Working like a charm. Interface with BoatLogixGo no problems.

I'm guessing that you will need to update the driver for the usb/serial cable. Keyspan US19HS lists its driver for OS X 10.9 not 10.10

Jon,

The 10.9 driver seems to work ok on my MacBook Pro. I'm using my Raymarine system data.

Cheers

The Actisense NGT-1 has third party drivers for OSX up to version 10.7 so I can only use MacEnc on my old macbook which I don't upgrade because of this. I tried it on my new macbook air with OSX 10.9.5 but MacEnc popup window says "unable to open port".

The Actisense NGT-1 works fine on OS X 9 and 10. Make sure you have installed the FTDI driver linked in the MacENC help. Restart Mac, plug in adapter and choose port USBSerial XXX, rate 115,200, Type NGT-1.

The Actisense NGT-1 works with FTDI chip driver on OSX 10.7.5 without problems. Since the file says it supports up to OSX 10.7 I didn't upgrade.

I tried using it on the new macbook air with Mavericks (OSX 10.9.5) installed on it and I couldn't get it to work with the same driver.

I googled it and found out that Apple have a new driver for FTDI chipset. Support for this driver has to be added to the application using it though and you have to unload that driver for the old FTDI driver to work.

https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/...index.html

I found this page and followed the steps listed and I got it to work, with the same settings as before in MacEnc.

Although this information can also be found on the FTDI chip own site.

I have had Macenc for several years. I want to upgrade because I am using Yosemite OS X 10.10.4 and my old software will not work. They are not responding to my multiple requests by e-mail over the last 2 days.
