Hi all!
I would like to calculate my course to steer taking into consideration the variables from the almanach such as currents and tides. Can't see how to do that using iNax.
Anyone got it?

GPSNavX and Vesper 8000 |

Hi there.
I have bought a Vesper 8000 AIS Transponder. I know the parameters to set, so GPSNavX can see it using WiFi: I just can't find where in the app to put those parameters!
Can anyone help? I've searched, but can't find a guide.
Thanks,
Eamonn

B&G or Raymarine integration. |

I will be replacing a windows box in an integrated system and will be switching to a Mac Mini. I would prefer to use MacENC/GPSNavX as the Nav Station plotter which will be a backup to a stand alone display at the helm. The helm units under review are the B&G Zues3 and the Raymarine Es units. The Mac Mini/MacENC unit becomes the route planning unit as well.
In the past I have had troubled using Raymarine GPS units and integrating their GPS signals in to the Mac ENC program.
Does that issue still exist with the newer Raymarine units? Any better integration with one unit or the other?
I will be installing another radar head to integrate with whichever helm plotter we decide on. Any better integration with MacENC with the Raymarine or the B&G.

Looking for a MacENC Developer AppleScript Contractor for Hourly Work |

Ahoy!
I am looking for a developer that is experienced with MacENC and AppleScript to increase the functionality within our existing MacENC Marine Navigation Application and NOAA Maps (enterprise GIS mapping). I need to have two new boundary lines at 12-miles and 50-miles (consistent across for the South Atlantic Coast, United States) and implement real-time vessel asset tracking within 12-mile and 50-mile boundary lines (LAT, LONG).
Please reply or feel free to pm me. Thanks

Happy New Year!
Macsailing.net wants to thank you for being a member, and wish you all the best for 2017.
You may have noticed that Macsaiing.net was recently listed for sale. We are happy to announce that the sale has closed and the transition is well underway with over 90% completion. I want to personally thank Jon for creating and managing the forum, and for his help in the transition. Jon will still be here, and has offered to help. Thank you, Jon!
Who am I? Well, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Russ, and I live in San Francisco. I work in the high-tech world of Silicon Valley. I am an avid sailor and especially like offshore voyages and ocean cruising. I sail on the San Francisco Bay and off the coast of Northern California most of the time, but I have sailed up and down the California coast. I have been sailing for over 20 years and have completed the US Sailing certifications for Sail and Power vessels. I recently completed the US Coast Guard Captains course for 100T Master Ocean, Sail and Tow. I spent time in the US Navy as a Deep Sea Diver, and am a member of 2 yacht clubs, Ballena Bay Yacht Club and Presidio Yacht Club . I am also a member of a sailing club, Club Nautique , a fantastic sailing club that offers all the training you need, boat charters, and a great community. People from all over the world travel to Club Nautique's location on the San Francisco Bay to take sailing lessons, and charter boats to sail in the Bay and the Pacific Ocean.
My boat is a 2003 Jeanneau 52.2, Blue Moon, MMSI 367647990. You can track her on Marinetraffic.com by searching for the MMSI #. She has an LOA of 51', and a beam of 16', draft is 7.5'.
Blue Moon is a sturdy and capable cruiser and is equipped for ocean passages. She has 2x Raymarine e127 MFDs, RD418HD Color Radar, AIS transceiver, EPIRB, 8-person life raft, water maker, 1100+ Ah gel cell battery bank, Fusion AV700 – (gotta have tunes!) and yes – Satellite TV.
I use my Macbook Air, iPad, and iPhone for the majority of my sailing needs. I use a multitude of apps and software, but the most often used are iNavX, Theyr, Navionics, Tide Data, and of course the Raymarine apps for viewing and controlling the MFD functions.
I must confess that I also carry two Android tablets onboard.
I am excited to be a part of this community, and I look forward to furthering our discussions and member base. Please share content with your friends and social media followers to help build an awesome global community of sailors! We have an updated Facebook page and Twitter account. Upgrades to the forum site are coming soon.
Have a super 2017, and let's make Macsailing and iPhonesailing awesome together!
Fair winds,
Russ

GPSNavX Freezes / Crashes |

Just wondering if anyone else has had this trouble and if a solution was found. Thanks all!
The GPSNavX app crashes once there has been some type of break in continuity of the app receiving NEMA data from the GPS. For instance closing the app and then reopening, the computer going to sleep, etc. I do have the GPS connected prior to opening the app.
The computer becomes unresponsive and I have to force quit GPSNavX. Even with force quitting the app which takes an inordinate amount of time to close, the computer requires a reboot. After attempting to shut down the computer, it has taken over an hour to finally shut down.
GPSNavX app version 6.0.7 MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013) OS El Capitan version 10.11.6. I'm primarily using a USGlobalSat BU 353S4 which has the most recent USB serial port driver which tests successfully using the USGlobalSat GPS Utility. Charts are .kap and .bsb raster from the NOAA web site.
Thanks again

MacEnc Support not answering |

Hello,
if you will need support you will be disappointed. No answers by the new distributor, even after a couple of email inquiries and reminders.
So think about spending such a lot of money for a navigation app.

MacEnc freezes constantly |

Hello,
I use Mac OSX 10.11.6, MacEnc 8.75 and the BU-353-S4 USB GPS receiver on my MacBook Pro mid 2009 with the Prolific Driver PL 2303 and have big problems.
The program freezes regularly as soon as the Mac goes to sleep and is reactivated again. Then the program does not work until the Mac has been restarted.
The same problem occurs as soon as I want to switch to another program during the MacEnc use.
Besides that, tracking shows wrong positions all the time.
What can I do?
I've added some screenshots of the console, which may help to locate the error.
I need urgent help.
I already send an email to gpsnavx@mac.com. Without any response so far.
Best regards
