Just came off a 9 day cruise in PNW waters on my Islander 28 sailboat.

I have a set of Autohelm ST-50 instruments. Autopilot head is acting up and will get sent back to Raymarine soon.

My "old" Garmin GPS48 has been having weird initialization errors, has to "autolocate" fairly often, I think maybe there's a ROM battery that's dead or something. I really like it, as it's small, accurate, and has a sudo-plotter that at least shows me my relationship to my course as well as major marine markers. Totally waterproof, I have it mounted on the binacle. So I'll probably have it updated as well.

I have iNavx on my phone, and will upgrade to MacENC so that I can get a more accurate plot from the MacBook.

But I would like to be able to see my MacGPS/MacBook closer to the cockpit, and or just not have it tied down to the serial cable to the GPS. This winter I will probably also add an AIS system, and would like to tie the system together.

I was wondering about a Bluetooth GPS and/or a Bluetooth multiplexer to tie into my instruments? Need something small and low-cost, This isn't the Queen Mary, I need to keep it simple.

I bought North and East Canada Vers. 3.0 a few days ago (Order MT6TBBJKH) in th German App Store . Although I am a fan of Navionics charts for iPhone (bought Caribien USA, Mediteranian etc
I have to tell you that I asked for refund of the East Canada chart, because there is big big mistake: If you see Overview Nova Scotia
and Newfoundland there is a large Island (approx 100 km wide) between, Northwes from Newfoundland, called Isle de la Magdalena or in English: The Magdalen Islands (see attachment upper right corner at the right side of the red word CANADA)
In your chart you see the Magdalen Islands if you have zoomed out (Overview). But if you zoom in for details the Island is complety lost, disappeared. Since we thought to use this chart in our charter business on Cape Breton with our charter-boats for our clients it is impossible to offer, it is dangerous.
So please solve the problem, send an update or refund the 7.99 Euro as I requested at Apple, they forwarded to Navionics - no reaction from there. Please understand, this is not a little mistake. That`s a NO GO.

I've been a mac user since the advent of Apple and a GPSNavX user since it's first release.
Apple has come a long way as far as accepting new programs and input devices.

When will NavX and ENC? What happens if my current (and very outdated) GPS unit fails? I've had three other units that are a charm to use and beautifully accurate - but none of them work with this program.

I appreciate all of the use I've got out of NavX for the initial cost I spent on it, but now it's less expensive to buy a better program and a PC to go with it rather than hunt around for the small fraction of GPS units that are compatible.

The rest of the field has left GPSNavX at the back of the pack. I know it's possible - my other GPS programs communicate via USB without special adapters.

By the developers own admission, he's already sold 10,000 copies of iNavX for the iPhone at $49.99 a pop. Perhaps GPSNavX has become a legacy product, else some of that HALF A MILLION DOLLARS could be used on supporting modern equipment.

So I've downloaded Mr Tides 3, release 16. It works fine, except that it *only* appears to show currents, not tides. Am I missing something? I'm trying to look at Raccoon Straight, in the San Francisco bay area, but I've tried other stations, too, and I can never get tide data to show up, just currents.

I can successfully transfer waypoints and routes, but when I try to download the tracks from a Garmin 76 it fails. First, the name of the track it thinks its transferring doesn't exist on the GPS and then the download fails with an 'incomplete' transfer. Any known workarounds?

I just downloaded your great software and I wonder if you can add the Cap-Ferret and Arcachon stations to your database?

Both are located in the middle of the coastline of the Bay of Biscay which is almost a blank zone on the map.

Cap Ferret is the tip of the cape outside the the Arcachon Bay. Inside the Arcachon Bay -- "Bassin d'Arcachon" -- there is the city of Arcachon where the tide is delayed compared to Cap Ferret because of the smallness of the entry way for the waters (the infamous "passes du Bassin d'Arcachon" that killed many a sailor).

The frbateaux.net people have developed a widget but not one as accurate and precise as your software (good for surfers and swimmers, less for sailors as it does not mention water heights, essential when you want to enter or exit the "passes")

Changes include:

In addition to selecting "New Waypoint" in the "Waypoints" view, single-tapping on the chart will allow a waypoint to be created at the tapped position.

Previous lat,lon and zoom scale restored for each chart.

"Position" button on the "Port Search" view will list all ports within 100 Nm. Ports will be sorted by distance.

"Disable Auto-Lock" in the "Setup" menu can be enabled to disable automatic screen lock. Lock button can still be used.

Use the Camera button on the "Waypoint" view to assign a picture to the waypoint.

Improved object info for Navionics charts.

Exported Routes use their name as the filename on X-traverse.

Reverse Route button on "Route" view button bar.

Waypoints & Routes can be imported and exported as Google Earth KMZ format.
