AyeTides 1.70 is now available. Biggest change is to the text view - I've completely redone it, adding graphics, a scrolling list, and a tide clock-like feature telling you when the next tide is (not a clock though, just text).

For tidal stream (a.k.a. current) stations, the ebb and flood directions are always shown, with the current direction highlighted.

The icons for currents are arrows, left ones are floods, right ones are ebbs.

Other changes include updated harmonics for many stations, added more stations (especially in France), and a few little bug fixes and tweaks.

Just got iNavX. I'm also a MacENC user and have many routes and waypoints already there. Can the NMEA connection between MacENC and iNavX be used to download waypoints, routes and tracks?

I've written a review of Navionics Marine UK & Netherlands iPhone app. It's an excellent app.

I would like to retrieve all of my CMap NT waypoints and import to a Garmin 545S. First problem is the Proprietary reader for the original cmap. Do I need to purchase PC planner inorder to export the waypoints from my 10 year old Raytheon 631 chartplotter. Is the Cmap/Jeppson reader truly their own format card. 2nd problem- I have heard that it is difficult to import files to any Garmin product.

First I must thank you for such a wonderful and easy to use program that at the same time is quite powerful. I installed version 6.1 on Friday 7/24 in the afternoon and on Saturday 7/25 had everything running prior to hitting the start line for the BYC Mackinac race. Yesterday when I got off the boat after about 600nm I was very pleased that the only "glitch" I had (running the software 24x7 on a MacBook Air) was when I forgot to recharge the battery and the system shut down. The simplicity of taking bearing/ranges by my crew allowed me to actually sleep some, compared to last year with the frequent crashes with both MaxSea and Expedition.

Now, if I may be bold and ask you to look at the feasibility of some additions/change configurations :-)

1. Track, can you add a few more options for capture time? 1,15,30,60,90sec then 5min or 1 hour is a big jump. What about a 10min or 15min option? I used the 5min but over a 60hr race, it captures alot of data!
2. Instrument window, can you modify the window to allow user settings? While it covers the basics and is nice, I would like to be able to add/change the data shown(VMG, True Wind/Angle)I don't need to see water temp and could re-use that cell? I know you want to keep it clean, it would be nice though.
3. Trackpad gestures, any way to take advantage of the "pinch" and "swipe" to zoom/scroll?
4. Track window, like #2, would it be feasible to configure the data layout/capture? I don't need the "notes" or the "temp" columns and would like to replace with "True Wind".
5. Direct edit of the "preference" screen, especially waypoint arrival circle?

I really love this and can't wait to try it on W/L race this Tuesday.

I have purchased (can't remember where) CD of updated US charts. Shall I simply copy to my hard disk those folders containing regions I want?
They are Maptech charts. Should I replace the relevant folder of older Maptech charts on my hard disk?

This is a preliminary announcement.

A built-in GRIB download service is now available in PolarView for MacOS (version 0.7.79). The service is undergoing testing and the feature is not available for other platforms at this time (but will be in a near future based on user feedback).

The service provides data based on NOAA NCEP forecasts in GFS and NWW3 models.

To use download service, open Grib Manager, select "Download" pane, specify area boundaries and press "Download" button.

Note, that "Select" feature (selecting area graphically on chart) is not yet active.

When I request a GRIB in MacENC, I get the message "Request for GRIB has failed". I tried with with large and small scale charts. Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks, Ron
