This time last year Garmin was promising all sorts of OSX support. Oh well.... maybe this year grin....

Apart from Garmin having a somewhat convenient, all in one packaging, they are still offering a lot of 12 channel GPS technology when really inexpensive 20 channel GPS technology is available from USGlobalSat.

Gribs seem to be a popular discussion item now...

I downloaded a grib file from Grib.us and it openned fine in both MacENC and GPSNavX. However, when I use the play function to annimate, it does not play in chronological order - several date/times play out of sequence, only in GPSNavX. It plays fine in MacENC. In the Grib pop-down window these times are also out of sequence in GPSNavX but not in MacENC. Is this a problem with the application or the grib file?

Would like to know which logging and/or blogging program is recommended that will tie in to MacEnc nav data.

A new player has appeared on the GRIB lanscape, Grib.us. Their url is: http://www.grib.us/
In addition to their web based interface, they have a PC interface, "UGrib", that runs in Windows. I have been running it in VirtualPC with success, I assume that VMWare or Parallels or BootCamp would be even faster on Intel machines. The nice thing about their system is the delivery method, you download the .grb file directly from their server, no intermediate app such as Mail so the request and delivery is a 1 step process. You click "Download" after setting up your needed GRIB and it appears in your download folder. At present, they have only 3 requests for an OS X native version of UGRIB, but if enough Mac users jumped on the bandwagon, I think they would see the value in porting to Mac. Oh yeah, it's a free service....

Today's (Thu Nov 30/06) Panbo http://panbo.com/ , which I am sure you read, went on about NavSim, for PCs, but did not mention MacENC.
