  Free Grib Viewers?
Posted by: CMiles - November 15, 2008 12:54 - Forum: General - Replies (22)

Pocketbook is tight right now and NavX is on my partner's computer not mine. I'm doing the virtual volvo ocean race and want better wind data. Anyone suggest a free grib viewer for Mac? I guess I could just fire up the old PC....

"They just work"... if there is software Wink

Adds pinch zooming, but "Zoom Slider" can be enabled in the "Setup" to revert back to using the single-tap zooming.

Is it possible via bluetooth or wifi with instruments interfaced to MacBook (in either NavX or ENC) to then interface with Iphone for handheld instrumentation in cockpit?

  MacENC Raymarine RC420 serial problem.
Posted by: joeld98 - November 10, 2008 20:15 - Forum: MacENC & GPSNavX - Replies (1)

I've connected my Macbook to the RC420 plotter (circa 2000) and successfully transfered waypoint data. I cannot seem to get the routes to transfer. The transfer starts and completes, but the route list is empty. I have renamed the waypoints and route names to 8 characters or less and have limited the routes to less than 50 waypoints. The documentation indicates the RTE messages are supported. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this configuration are appreciated.

  Raymarine Interface with GPSNavX
Posted by: CMiles - November 10, 2008 19:20 - Forum: MacENC & GPSNavX - Replies (8)

I am working on instruments on racing boat I crew on. We use GPSNavX on a MacBook and have Raymarine ST60 Instruments. We have an old Raymarine NMEA/Serial interface. Questions: Can I hook this up with Keyspan USB converter? Using GPS NavX with USB GPS antenna, will GPS NavX export data back to Raymarine instruments (for VMG etc).
