2 things:

I'd like to sort the waypoints list (possibly routes as well, though haven't tried that) without having to close and reopen the app. Or perhaps I'm just missing something.

It would also be great if there was a way to link files to a location. For instance, have a link at a given bay, marina, pass or waypoint etc. that would take me to a photo I've taken of that location. Or link to a note about the location, or a record in Bento.

Just started using MacENC last week. Haven't taken it out yet but have been loading waypoints etc. It's great. Can't wait to get it on the water. :thumbup:

trying to import waypoints into GPSNavX and struggling

gets the first 2 in and then fails

these are marks from my old plotter, A pile of wrecks off the coast here we fish over, and can't work out why it won't import them

just wondering what other people may have aboard?

I guess the obvious choice these days would be a mac mini for size, but I've heaps of stuff lying around so am thinking of a 'project' to utilise some old stuff

there's is a mac mini in the house I could use (my daughter has been hassling me for a new macbook), but I've also got a cube that does nothing these days except look pretty, a quicksilver g4 that props up a shelf, a g4 powerbook with broken hinges, and a variety of imacs of various vintages

the new boat is a an old fifie herring drifter, 48' long and the wheelhouse is plenty big enough to fit the logic board and psu out of the way under the helm then flush fit a cd and usb sockets etc on the console somewhere.

Mad Idea and not worth the bother??

hate to see redundant macs and can't bear to dump them

found a supplier for the maptech raster library, but also seen the C-map max mega wide vector charts on cd also. so before I take the plunge, are c-map charts compatible??

can't see any mention of them anywhere so guessing not, but just wanted to confirm

Looking at the demo version of MacENC, but I may be missing something obvious.

I am wanting to be able to create a series of waypoints and have them automatically generate a route as I create those waypoints; if I chose to go back and further label the WP afterwards, fine.

I haven't found a way to do this in MacENC.

I can create waypoints; but everytime I do I have to deal with a waypoint window popup. Is there a way to disable that popup window?

The only way I have been able to create a route is by creating a new route, then adding each waypoint one at a time in the Routes pane. I have not found a way to add multiple wayponts all at once.

Given all the this software package appears to be able to do, I'm hoping it's just me, because other than that, I don't see any reason to chose any of PC based apps running in emulation.

If anyone can steer me through something I'm missing here, I'd appreciate it greatly.

I stumbled across an application called MiniBatteryLogger that provides reporting and analytics of your portable Mac's battery.

right then, given up on every option as far as parallels/windoze type setups go and am going straight for the MacENC solution

so, need to source some charts. I like vector charts!

just bought an new toy (50' herring drifter!) and will be collecting it next month and bringing it home - north east scotland back to the tyne. I've got a chart plotter already, with a c-map mega wide cartridge in it, bit am going to stick a 14" tft and either a mac mini or a cube(!) on board as something nicer to look at

having googled about, trying to find an answer I'm happy with has been a bit of a pain. Maptech is one option, but I like vectors. I've seen that I can buy the c-map megawide on cd now, but not sure if that will work with 'navX or 'ENC (or will it??)

I've got copies of CM93 charts already, but I guess thats a none starter as well

navionics, well thats some cartridge madness, so not going there

admiralty vector charts sound like a solution, but... trying to work out how much they'll cost from the UKHO site, or a retailer, and finding out exactly what I'll get for my money is a struggle

or do I really need to just stop worrying and buy the maptech charts?? (anyone know a good uk source??)

I am very pleased with the ability to group waypoints. When importing a waypoint file, automatically a group is created, called "Imported". I am happy with that as well.

If I import another file I would like to have that in a separate group. How can I do that?

Is it possible to change the name of this group "Imported"?

Hope someone can help .. I have just got my Mac so its all new .. Seems more relable than you know who .... But in SeaClear you can Inport your own Charts after scanning them as a *.BMP can you do the same with any of the Mac Programs .. If i can its worth buying the program as you can update your own charts.. :crazy:
