Tracking feature request

How about allowing the tracking to be continuous when the iphone display powers off? I know I can set the display never to turn off, but this uses more power. GPS Kit App has a nice low power mode as well. At the moment I end up with a new track every time the phone goes off.

Sail Timer / Auto Next & Simulate mode

I have been trying to become more familiar with MacENC as I have a race coming up next week (Cowes to Le Harve) and have created waypoints and routes. When I was using the app last weekend, I noticed that the Auto Next function only works properly when you do not utilize the Sail Timer function - was that by design? For example, when you utilize the Sail Timer function and you pass your mark, you have to cancel the waypoint goto and then point manually to the next waypoint and hit goto and then start the Sail Timer again - can't imagine that was by design?
Also it appears that when you enter Simulate mode there is no way to switch out of simulate mode except to quite the application. Am I missing something?
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks,
Adrian
PS I purchased iNavX and was able to link btw MacBookPro and iPhone, even though there are no maps available on the iPhone for the UK, the data relay is pretty cool.

AyeTides 1.50 is now on the App Store. Changes include: - Moon times are displayed on the graph view
Improved searching for nearby stations
A Google Map shows up (when on the net) on the Information view, and double-clicking it opens the Maps application
Favorite stations are starred in the various lists
Station times can be set to GMT
More European stations have been added
1.51 is in the works, it primarily adds closer integration with iNavX - you'll get a button that will return you directly there instead of having to invoke iNavX manually.

Validity of ENC maps

Hi,
Official french ENC maps (SHOM maps) have a validity period of either 3, 6 or 12 months (depending on the price you pay).
Beyond this period, you do not more benefit from updates.
But, do these maps still work with MacEnc beyond that period ?
Thanks in advance for your answers,
Regards,
Arnaud

USB hub versus multiplexer

Dear all,
I've been skimming through the many topics that touch on the issue but did not really find an answer:
What is best to use to connect multiple instruments and why: a USB hub or a multiplexer?
To my non-expert impression, the former offers the advantage of cost and simplicity, but many seem to refer only to the latter.
Thank you in advance for any clarification.

MacEnc crashes with gribs & softcht world

Interested to know if anyone finds that MacEnc hangs a lot? I generally have to restart MacEnc a few times every session. It isn't too bad, as it always restarts very quickly.
More recently I have had two Kernel failures directly after MacEnc has crashed. Both times OSX had to be reinstalled.
One of the problems seemed to be the "Softcht World" package of charts. They would work fine on their own for navigation, but as soon as I load up a grib, the application would hang. No problems with gribs if I remove that chart folder.
The computer is a Macbook Pro 2.33 Ghz 2 GB RAM with latest OSX updates. I am able to get around these problems, but I suppose I just find it a bit time consuming.
Anyone had any similar experiences with MacEnc?

Does anybody know how to transfer routes from GPSNavx to a Multi-function Display? I know how to do it to my Garmin GPS. But how do you do it to a Raymarine C80 ?
