Is there a way to delete tracks in iNavX? I can hide them, but cannot see how to delete them.

Is there a way in iNavX to make the BTW (Bearing to waypoint) read magnetic bearings rather than true bearings? It is more useful when trying to sail to a compass to see magnetic bearings. I can't find any option or setting to make this adjustment.

AyeTides 1.2 is now available through the App Store.

New on the Main view is the Favorites menu, and the last 3 opened stations are listed on the Main view too, instead of just the last opened station. The Geographic menu is reorganized and hopefully easier to navigate.

The Nearest menu now shows what the GPS location is as it updates, and has a timeout function that will ask you if it should continue searching if the location can't be found to within 100 meters after 45 seconds. In most of my tests the iPhone was able to find itself within that time, but not always

Bug fixes include showing the correct daylight hours in Australia, rotating the iPhone no longer makes the Information button on the Text view unresponsive, corrects the text for the moon phases on the Information view, and improves the various translations.

I am looking for a wifi gps that will work with the ipod touch inavx software, I tried a wifi gps but could not connect, software only for windows. Any suggestions out there I have been searching for a unit that will work, that is mac friendly?

Plan on using the ipod touch in a small boat, and using navgps to do my route planing.

Apple has approved iNavX 1.0.3 and it should show up shortly as an update in the app store.

The changes include -

Zooming is relative by tapping left or right of center on zoom slider.

Keep Pos. Icon visible in the Chart view "Settings" will scroll the chart back after 15 seconds of non user activity.


iNavX will continue to be frequently improved based on the valuable feedback users provide.

Does anybody have a simple grapher for NMEA data.

Like plotting wind direction trends.

My ultimate plan is to have a monitor mounted so that I can see the trend from the helm while racing.

Navimatics has released an ENC system for the iPhone using true vector charts and is called "Marine Maps".
It uses the integrated GPS to display the actual position.

But it looks like the app has much less features ass iNavX.

Until now only some charts are available and according to the Apple Store it seems like you have to buy the app for each chart region you need! Which makes it very expensive as each version costs 35,99 Euro. Though one doesn't need all regions but if you buy 2 or 3 it's very expensive considering that the NOAA ENC charts are free.
Also there are no other chart coverage except USA.

Most commercial vessels have an AIS transponder. The AIS transponders have a "Pilot Plug". A standard connection to extract the NMEA data from the AIS transponder. Portable Pilot Solutions LLC makes various "Pilot Plug" interfaces. Software such as MacENC and iNavX can accept NMEA data via TCP/IP and use an AIS transponder to do real-time chart plotting in addition to plotting AIS targets. Using Portable Pilot Solutions "AIS to WiFi 802.11b" one can create a wireless connection between the AIS transponder and a PC/Mac or iPhone.
